Dr. Shana Sritharan is a Registered Clinical and Counselling Psychologist in supervised practice with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has over six years of experience providing consultation, assessment and treatment to individuals aged 16 and above and couples.
Dr. Sritharan obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from McGill University, Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from City University and her PhD from Regent’s University of London. She specialized in trauma, bereavement and loss. Dr. Sritharan worked in correctional facilities, schools, and various health care settings that included hospices, palliative care units in hospitals and private practice. Dr. Sritharan’s clinical experience includes working with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health, emotional and behavioural issues that include anxiety, work related stress, eating disorder, substance abuse, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma and loss.
Dr. Sritharan uses an integrative approach to therapy that draws on several evidence-based psychological interventions. She is trained and experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialetic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, and Emotion Focused Therapy.
